A local Filipino was arrested late last week for raping his friend’s wife after getting drunk, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Leng Kam Lon said during a regular press conference yesterday.
The 38-year-old suspect surnamed Habana, a Macau ID holder, told the police he works as a kitchen helper.
According to Leng, the victim in her twenties and her husband, both local residents, reported the case to the police last Friday.
The victim told the police that her husband invited the suspect, who they have known for some years, to their home in Rua de Francisco Xavier Pereira for drinks and chats last Thursday night.
After a while the victim went to sleep in a bedroom with her young child. As her husband was drunk he fell asleep in the living room.
At around midnight, the suspect went in her bedroom and touched her thigh and then inserted his fingers at least twice into her vagina. Leng said the victim was worried that Habana would hurt her child so she did not try to resist.
However, when the suspect wanted to go further the victim’s struggles woke the child who saw the suspect.
This caused Habana to be afraid, and he immediately left the flat. The victim told her husband what had happened and they reported the case to the police last Friday afternoon.
PJ officers discovered that the suspect intentionally turned the flat’s CCTV camera lens to face the wall before he entered the victim’s bedroom. They arrested Habana in his flat in Rua da Esperança later that day. The suspect refused to cooperate with the police, according to Leng.
Habana was transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) last Saturday, facing a rape charge.
