Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 3 will remain in effect today, the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) said in a statement at 2 p.m. (local time).
According to the statement, the No. 3 signal means that winds with a sustained speed of 41 to 62 km/h are expected or blowing, and gusts my exceed 110 km/h in Macau.
At 2 p.m. the tropical depression was estimated to be about 600 kilometres south-west of Macau. The bureau forecast it to move west-north-west at around 22 km/h towards Hainan province.
The No. 3 signal was hoisted at 8 p.m. yesterday.
