Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng, will pay a six-day working visit to Beijing from today, the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS) announced yesterday.
According to a GCS statement, Ho’s delegation of senior government officials will stay in the national capital from tomorrow until next Monday for meetings with central government representatives.
The statement said that Ho and his entourage will discuss the development of the Guangdong-Macau Intensive Cooperation Zone planned for Hengqin island and exchange views on anti-COVID-19 measures.
Ho, who has headed the local government since December 20 last year, and his delegation will meet with officials from the Ministry of Commerce (MOC), People’s Bank of China (PBOC), National Immigration Administration (NIA), General Administration of Customs (GAAC), State Taxation Administration (STA), National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), National Health Commission (NHC), and Ministry of Finance (MOF), according to the statement.
The chief executive’s delegation includes Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong, Chief-of-Office of the Chief Executive’s Office Hoi Lai Fong, Macau Economic Services Bureau (DSE) Director Tai Kin Ip, Macau Monetary Authority (AMCM) Chairman Chan Sau San, and GCS Director Inês Chan Lou.
During Ho’s absence, Secretary for Administration and Justice André Cheong Weng Chon will be Macau’s acting chief executive.
