With the aim of deepening Macau residents’ knowledge about their nation’s consular protection and the services provided by the Foreign Ministry for Chinese nationals living abroad, raising their understanding of safety risks while overseas and strengthening their awareness of safety precaution and self-protection, the Identification Services Bureau (DSI) has launched the “Consular Protection and Assistance – the Nation’s Consular Protection Measures in Recent Years” online photo exhibition under the guidance of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR), according to a DSI statement on Friday, when the online event got off the ground.

Besides highlighting significant foreign emergency situations involving Chinese citizens and organisations overseas that the Foreign Ministry has tackled in recent years, as well as cases with regard to consular protection provided by the ministry to Macau residents and enterprises abroad, the exhibition also provides emergency contacts and information for local residents facing difficulties and having been involved in accidents abroad

The exhibition does not only enable Macau residents to strengthen their knowledge about the achievements in consular protection that their nation has made throughout these years, but also enhances their understanding of consular protection and services, and thus evokes the feeling of the love and care that the country has for its citizens living abroad, the statement notes.

Contents of the exhibition can be found on the special website of “Fundamental Rights and Duties of Residents, Consular Protection and Consular Services” (www.dsi.gov.mo/frdcp) or by scanning the respective QR code.
