An exhibition entitled “Unlock That Door” by 23 local artists is being held at Creative Macau – Centre for Creative Industries to mark the centre’s 17th anniversary. The event is supported by the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM).

All the artists are members of Creative Macau.

According to a statement by Creative Macau, the theme for this year’s collective anniversary exhibition is to express the artists’ ideas, feelings and “anything else” within their own imagination in a written letter with a mix of printmaking, different installation sets, watercolours, and many other mixed media. The information said that writing a letter to someone is something intimate – although the other person is far away, he or she remains present both in image and spirit. The words in letters carry meanings and often lead us to a cathartic release, the statement points out.

Each “letter set off their imagination to develop and build up an artwork to be shown at the gallery”, the statement said.

The exhibition is on until September 19 on the ground floor of the Macau Cultural Centre complex in Avenida Xian Xing Hai from Monday to Saturday except Sundays and public holidays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
