The leaseholds of an idle plot of land in the peninsula and anther one in Taipa have been annulled because the leaseholders, the government says, failed to develop them within the legal period, according to yesterday’s Official Gazette (BO).

Of the two plots, the larger one, a plot known as “A2/g” covering an area of 6,480 square metres in Nape, was earmarked for a 16-storey residential and commercial building, while the smaller one, known as “O4b”, covering an area of 2,170 square metres in Taipa’s Pac On industrial zone, had been authorised for a fibre optic cable factory, according to the gazette.

The 25-year provisional concession to develop the Nape plot was issued in 1992 by the government to Fomento Predial Golden Bowl, Limitada, while the leaseholder of the Pac On plot, Polymar Internacional – Fibras Ópticas, Limitada, obtained the plot’s provisional concession from the government in 1994, according to the gazette.
