Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo do Rosario said yesterday that the quality of the city’s private and public construction projects was “worse than 15 years ago”, adding that both the constructors and the government were responsible for the deterioration.
The outspoken policy secretary made the remarks during a Q&A session in the legislature’s hemicycle after several lawmakers complained about “serious” quality problems found in a string of public construction projects recently.
While legislator-cum-civic leader Song Pek Kei pointed out that cracks recently appeared in the Lago public housing estate in Taipa, grassroots lawmaker Au Kam Sam underlined that water leaks recently affected Koi Nga Building, which is part of the sprawling public housing estate in Seac Pai Van.
