BEIJING - The Ministry of Culture and Tourism yesterday kicked off a series of online promotional activities to attract more visitors to the mainland from Hong Kong and Macau.
As the first tourism promotional event organised by the ministry since the mainland entered a phase of regular epidemic prevention and control, the campaign aims to help the tourism industries on the mainland and in Hong Kong and Macau overcome difficulties and seek common development, Vice-Minister of Culture and Tourism Zhang Xu said.
Yesterday’s event was held online in Beijing, Hebei, Guangdong and Hong Kong, showcasing the natural landscape, world heritage, culture, history and local customs of the mainland to people in Hong Kong and Macau.
More promotional activities will be held on Oct. 27 and Nov. 23 with the themes of study tours and travel by high-speed rail.
