An event entitled “Exhibition of Artworks of the Members of the Macau Artist Society 2020” is being held at the Old Courthouse in Avenida da Praia Grande. The exhibition is co-organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) and the Macau Artist Society (MAS), according to a statement by bureau.
The exhibition showcases about 190 recent pieces of work – including sets – by three generations of MAS members. The works reflect a variety of themes and styles, and they use a range of Chinese and Western means of expression, including traditional Chinese painting, ink wash painting, calligraphy, watercolours, oils, printmaking and digital drawing, as well as three-dimensional means such as ceramics and metalworking.
The exhibition is colourful and offers the public “wonderful local creations”, the statement says.
The Macau Artist Society has nurtured many local talents and has been committed to promoting the development of Macau’s art circles over the years, the statement points out, adding that the society also offers a platform for local artists to showcase their achievements by organising different types of exhibitions and activities.
The exhibition runs until November 10 at the Exhibition Hall of the Old Courthouse at 459, Avenida da Praia Grande. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. including public holidays except Mondays. Admission is free.
As part of the government’s COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures, visitors must wear a facemask when entering the venue, have their temperature checked and provide their digital health code.
