The 25th Macau International Trade and Investment Fair (25th MIF), Macau Franchise Expo 2020(2020MFE) and 2020 Portuguese-Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macau) (2020PLPEX) ended on Saturday, and the three-day exhibitions resulted in the signing of over 100 contracts, according to a Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) statement on Saturday.
The statement noted that the three exhibitions held concurrently at the Venetian Exhibition Hall resulted in the signing of over 100 projects, such as the introduction of Macau-branded or Made-in-Macau products to specialty supermarkets, the setting-up of sales channels for Portuguese-speaking countries products on local e-commerce platforms and the procurement of agricultural produce from the mainland, as well as scientific research collaboration projects. The statement noted that more than 670 negotiation sessions took place both online and offline.
The statement said that in addition to on-site business matching sessions, this year’s three exhibitions also provided online business matching and online protocol signing services, which allowed “online-offline” and “online-online” business matching sessions, adding that more than 270 such sessions were held.
The statement also quoted an exhibitor at this year’s online exhibition, Carlos Jiménez as saying it was the first time that he had participated in online exhibitions. He also told the organisers that he received a lot of positive feedback from customers, adding that in his opinion, the online platform provided more convenient and updated information compared with the offline platform.
Moreover, the statement pointed out that 50 activities such as forums, conferences, and promotional seminars were held during the three concurrent events.
According to the statement, the “Macau Franchise Expo 2021” will be held from July 30 to August 1, 2021, while the “26th Macau International Trade and Investment Fair” and “2021 Portuguese-Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macau)” are scheduled for October 21 to 23, 2021.
