Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) launched its 10th Youth Achievement Programme (YAP) in a ceremony at StarWorld Hotel yesterday.

During the 9th YAP Award Presentation and 10thLaunching Ceremony, GEG and the YAP co-organiser Macau Management Association (MMA) also signed a three-year cooperation agreement to fortify their commitment on talent cultivation.

Since 2011, GEG and MMA has been organising YAP annually, providing a series of activities and training to at least 3,000 participants.

GEG Director Philip Cheng said that over the years, GEG and MMA have been working together towards a common goal of cultivating local talents.

“This year, YAP introduces more diversified activities to arouse participants’ interest. We hope to see more local youths joining the YAP family and using of this platform to build a more solid foundation for their future,” Cheng said.

In a separate speech, MMA Council Chairman Tommy Lau said, that as COVID-19 is bringing many unprecedented challenges, it is necessary to be better equipped for the future by adapting to the changing internal and external environment.

During the ceremony, GEG and MMA representatives presented a number of awards to outstanding YAP participants.

Member of the 1st YAP, Kenneth Chao told the audience at the ceremony how the YAP has helped changed him and boosted his confidence.

There will be more activities added to the 10th YAP for the purpose of cultivating young talents and future leaders, including a summer camp where high potential talents will be selected to join to further enhance their leadership skills, as well as vocational skill workshops on topics chosen by the participating YAP members.

In addition, GEG is also cooperating with local universities in organising roadshows on campuses to promote YAP, attract new members, and help young people build a stronger foundation for a brighter future.

GEG sees young people as an important driver for Macau’s future development, and has been promoting the YAP to support them.

Guided by a group of professionals, the YAP offers a variety of training, extracurricular activities, themed seminars and Greater Bay Area field visits, allowing young people to develop themselves through learning and sharing and equipping themselves with professional skills and knowledge for their future career development and planning.
