A total of 66 SJM staff members have completed a training course on responsible gaming, as part of the company’s effort to enhance awareness and knowledge among its employees and the public.

It is the second year that SJM has offered the Proficiency Certificate Course “Sustainable Development in Macau Tourism, Leisure, Entertainment – Responsible Gaming” for its staff members, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development.

The “SJM Responsible Gaming Promotion 2020 – RG Award & Sustainable Development Planning Certificate Presentation Ceremony” was held at Grand Lisboa yesterday.

Besides the course, SJM has also recently launched a series of activities based on the theme of the government’s responsible gaming promotions this year – “Lost Control, Lose Family”.

The activities aim to prevent gaming disorders by passing the concept of prudent financial management to the young generation through communication and interactive games between parents and their children.

In addition, an online competition “Responsible Gaming Off-Duty Casino Entry Ban” was held to deepen staff members’ understanding of the new legislation, and has attracted over 2,500 staff to participate.

Other interactive games for families included “Healthy Family Tangram”, “Let’s Understand Off-Duty Casino Entry Ban Game” and “We All Know Responsible Gaming Quiz”.

SJM Managing Director and SJM Staff Welfare Consultative Committee Chairman Angela Leong On Kei said in her speech at the certificate presentation ceremony that she hoped that through education and promotional activities, SJM would help spread the important message of responsible gaming to the public, combining efforts in building a sustainable city which is prosperous, harmonious and healthy. – sjmpr
