The Macau Democratic Development Union announced in a statement on its Facebook page yesterday that their annual June 4 vigil in Largo do Senado will start at 8 p.m. tomorrow.
The vigil has been organised since 1990 by the group, to commemorate the June 4 incident in Beijing the year before. Grassroots legislators Au Kam San and Antonio Ng Kuok Cheong are leaders of the group, which says that the movement should not be forgotten and that the victims deserve justice.
The group says its objective is to give residents a platform to remember the victims of the incident, adding that it welcomes participants to discuss “vindicating the pro-democracy movement in 1989 and building up a democratic China” during the vigil.
