University of Macau (UM) Rector Zhao Wei said yesterday there had been no safety issues since some of the sports facilities on the new Hengqin campus were opened to members of the general public at the beginning of the month.
Zhao made the remarks on the sidelines of yesterday’s seminar about the central government’s ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative and Macau’s cultural industry at the Macau Science Centre in Nape.
Asked by reporters about the situation after some of the university’s sports facilities such as its football pitches and swimming pool were open to the public this month, Zhao said that he went to the swimming pool and its operation was normal. Zhao also said he hoped more residents would use the facilities.
