New culture, education chiefs sworn in
The newly appointed president of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), Leong Wai Man, and the newly appointed director of the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ), Kong Chi Meng, were formally sworn in by Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Elsie Ao Ieong U during a ceremony on Friday.Both appointments took effect on Tuesday last week.Leong, who had been a vice-president of the Cultural Affairs Bureau before her new job, has succeeded Mok Ian Ian who became the president of the Macau
Police to set up anti-terror prevention unit
Judiciary Police (PJ) Acting Director Sit Chong Meng said yesterday that he was in the process of setting up a new unit this year tasked with preventing terrorism.Sit spoke to reporters after a Spring Festival luncheon for the media at the PJ headquarters in Zape.Underlining that the fight against terrorism around the world is difficult, Sit said that the Judiciary Police were aware of the menace, and since last year they had been working on setting up an anti-terror prevention unit.PLEASE READ
