Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai will lead a delegation, including Secretary for Economy and Finance Anton Tai Kin Ip, today to attend tomorrow morning’s opening plenary of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025, in Hainan Province.
Today and tomorrow, during Sam’s absence from Macau, Secretary for Administration and Justice André Cheong Weng Chon will serve as the Acting Chief Executive.
According to a statement by the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS) yesterday, the annual forum began yesterday under the theme “Asia in the Changing World: Towards a Shared Future” this year. Over the course of four days, the on-going forum will concentrate on four key areas, namely: The Bigger Picture: Building Trust and Promoting Cooperation in a Fast-Changing World; Promoting Growth: Re-balancing Globalisation for Inclusive Development; Shaping the Future: Accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for More Effective Responses to Global Challenges; and Identifying New Drivers: Strengthening AI Application and Governance for Innovation-Driven Development.
The GCS statement noted that the delegation, composed of senior local officials, also includes Chan Kak, chief-of-office for Sam’s office, and Liu Xianfa, foreign ministry commissioner in the Macau Special Administrative Region, who serves as the delegation’s adviser.
