A 34-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for assaulting his girlfriend and illegally imprisoning her as she wanted to end their relationship, Judiciary Police (JP) spokesman Ho Chan Nam said at a regular press conference yesterday.
Ho identified the suspect as a 34-year-old man surnamed Kuok and the victim as a local security guard in her fifties whose surname was not released.
According to Ho, the victim reported to the police on Sunday that her boyfriend had beaten and slapped her many times and even used a pair of scissors to threaten her.
