The widely reported World Table Tennis event “WTT Macau 2020” which was held in November has been ranked in the Top 10 of international sports news last year by China Central Radio and Television, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), which presented the event, said in a statement yesterday.
The five-day WTT Macau 2020, organised by the Sports Bureau (ID) and World Table Tennis (WTT) in conjunction with the Macau Table Tennis General Association, took place at Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion.
According to the statement, as the first event to take place under the WTT auspices, WTT Macau 2020 was the special administrative region’s only international sports event to be ranked in the Top Ten international sports news in 2020 by China Central Radio and Television.
The statement said that as the presenting partner of the event, GEG has actively supported the local government in promoting Macau’s development of sports tourism by using a diversified approach to support its hosting of international sports events.
The statement did not specify the ranking of WTT Macau in last year’s Top 10 by China Central Radio and Television.
