A 31-year-old local man was arrested on Tuesday after he “apprehended” a woman for distributing calling cards for a massage parlour, a Public Security Police (PSP) spokesperson said during a regular press briefing yesterday.
According to the spokesperson, after receiving a call for assistance at around noon on Tuesday, police officers arrived at the scene, near a footbridge in Avenida do Doutor Rodrigo Rodrigues, to find the suspect holding the woman on the ground.
The spokesperson said that after splitting the two up, the suspect was taken to a police station for questioning while the woman was taken to a hospital.
