The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a man from the mainland yesterday for allegedly stealing a bag containing HK$870,000 in cash from his uncle in a hotel room, PJ spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a special press conference yesterday.
Lei identified the suspect as a 20-year-old surnamed Sun.
According to Lei, the victim came to Macau to gamble on May 12. Sun, who was already in Macau at that time, met his uncle and booked the guestroom in a casino-hotel resort in Cotai for him.
