A local man has been arrested for having sex with his underage girlfriend, which he had videoed, and threatening to release the sex clips when she tried to finish the relationship, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Lam Keong said in a regular press conference yesterday.
The 32-year-old unmarried suspect surnamed Cheang told the police that he’s a businessman.
According to Lam, the victim was introduced to Cheang in 2020, and they became a couple later that year, engaging in sexual activity that Cheang sometimes recorded. As of this year, the victim is still underage, Lam said.
In 2022, the victim discovered that Cheang had another girlfriend and tried to break up with him, but Cheang refused and threatened to release the sex videos. He even threatened to harm her family, but promised to delete the clips later.
On Sunday night, the victim met with Cheang near the Hengqin border checkpoint and found that he had not deleted the videos. She reported the case to the police, and Cheang was arrested at the scene.
Lam noted that the police discovered several sex videos related to the case on Cheang’s phone.
Cheang has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing charges of having sexual intercourse with an underage person, possession of pornographic material related to a minor, coercion and blackmail, Lam said.
