The government will build an access point to the public street at one side of a footbridge that currently connects the podium areas of two residential estates in south Fai Chi Kei.
A staircase, a lift and an escalator will be installed at the new access point.
In a statement yesterday, the Lands, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT) said that it expects the project to get off the ground in the next quarter.
The footbridge in Rua Sul do Patane links a floor on the podium of the Van Sion Son Chun residential estate, which was built in the 1990s, and a floor on the podium of the newly completed Trust Leisure Garden residential estate. The footbridge currently does not have any access points in the street.
The bureau unsealed bids submitted by five construction companies for the project yesterday. Among the five bids submitted, three were accepted and one was rejected, while the bureau conditionally accepted the remaining one – the company will have to submit the CV of the person overseeing the safety of the project.
According to the statement, the quotations proposed by the four accepted bidders range from 4.8 million patacas to 6.4 million patacas.
The bureau has set a maximum period of 240 working days for the winning bidder to complete the project.
According to the statement, the construction periods proposed by the 4 bidders range from 210 to 220 working days.
According to the statement, the project is to set up an access point to the street at the side of the Van Sion Son Chun residential estate. “The project will make it more convenient for residents to use the footbridge,” the statement said.
According to the statement, the project consists of the installation of a staircase, a lift and an escalator at the future access point to the street.
