Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) Vice Chairman Francis Lui Yiu Tung received the insignia of Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters from the French Government for his contribution to promoting the arts and culture of France.

Throughout the years, Lui has actively supported Macau’s arts and culture, recreation and sports development by continually exploring and introducing different elements to Macau’s tourism industry and facilitating the city’s diversification.

Recently, an honouring ceremony was held by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau at the Intercontinental Grand Stanford Hotel in Hong Kong. At the ceremony, Lui was decorated with the insignia from Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau Alexandre Giorgini. Giorgini thanked Lui, who is an ambassador of the Paris Opera, for his contribution to attracting people’s attention to the arts and culture of France and promoting the cultural relations between France and the local communities.

The Order of Arts and Letters (Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) was established in 1957 by the Minister of Culture of France to recognise eminent artists and writers, as well as people who have contributed significantly to furthering the arts in France and throughout the world. The Order is recognised as France’s highest cultural honour and is made up of three ranks, namely, Commander, Officer and Knight. – gegpr
