The Executive Council (ExCo) said in a statement yesterday that the government will start its wealth-sharing payout on April 12.

On Monday, Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong announced that this year the government will start its wealth-sharing payout earlier, moving it forward from July to April. He also said that under the scheme, Macau permanent residents are entitled to 10,000 patacas, while non-permanent residents are entitled to 6,000 patacas. He noted that the scheme takes up 7.235 billion patacas of the government’s budget for this year.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, last year’s payout was also brought forward.

The schedule noted that residents who want to request their cheque be resent, the application period is between May 11 and June 7, depending on the age group.
