An exhibition by local artist Penny Lam Im Peng is displaying her artwork at the Youth Art Exhibition and Performance Hall in Praça do Tap Seac.
The ongoing “Lam Im Peng Solo Exhibition” (林艷萍不展 in Chinese) is sponsored by the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ).
Lam told The Macau Post Daily that she obtained her bachelor’s degree from the Taipei University of Education (NTUE) and master’s degree from the School of Fine Arts of the Taipei University of the Arts (TNUA).
Lam said that she has been interested in the arts since childhood and started to teach herself and joined all kinds of art competitions such as for the design of T-shirts and logos.
Lam said that this is her first solo exhibition in Macau and she hopes that she can hold exhibitions in other places in the future. She said the theme of the exhibition is “Let’s small talk about art”, meaning that art comes from daily life just like general conversations.
Lam pointed out that the exhibits are mainly geometrical abstract styles, combined with simple geometric colour blocks to form patterns. Lam said she hoped that visitors to the exhibition would form their own impressions and find it delightful when looking at her geometric patterns from different angles.
The exhibition runs until April 18 at the Youth Art Exhibition and Performance Hall in Praça do Tap Seac. It opens from noon to 8 p.m. daily (except Mondays). Admission is free.
As part of the government’s COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures, all visitors entering the venue must wear a facemask, have their temperature checked and present a digital health code.
