A non-resident worker from the mainland intentionally touched a woman’s breast with his elbow at the Barrier Gate border checkpoint last week, a Public Security Police (PSP) spokesperson said during a regular press conference on Friday.
The spokesperson identified the suspect as a construction worker surnamed Luo who is in his forties.
According to the spokesperson, the woman, who is also a non-resident worker from the mainland, was entering Macau from Zhuhai at around 6 a.m. last Wednesday. When she was walking through the Barrier Gate checkpoint’s arrival hall, a man – Luo – walking on her right suddenly touched her breast with his left elbow, the spokesperson said.
As the woman in her twenties thought that the man deliberately touched her breast, she confronted him about it. The man then turned back and walked towards Zhuhai’s Gongbei checkpoint in an attempt to escape. However, the woman managed to stop him and reported the case to the police, according to the spokesperson.
Under questioning by the police, Luo admitted to touching the woman’s breast with his elbow. Luo told the police that when he was walking in the Barrier Gate checkpoint’s arrival hall, he was attracted by the woman’s looks so he sidled up to her and touched her breast with his left elbow, the spokesperson said.
Luo has been transferred to the Public Prosecution Office (MP) for further questioning, facing a sexual harassment charge.
