Global COVID-19 tally tops 150 million

The world's tally of officially confirmed COVID-19 cases topped 150 million today, according to the US-based real-time statistics reference website worldometers.info

As of 3:40 p.m. (Macau time) today, the tally stood at 150,256,405. A total of 127.8 million COVID-19 patients had meanwhile recovered. 

The global death toll amounted to 3,164,887.

The countries with the most confirmed cases of the disease were the US (32.9 million), India (18.3 million), Brazil (14.5 million), France (5.5 million), and Russia (4.78 million), Turkey (4.75) million, and the UK (4.4 million). 

Most of the fatalities were reported in the US (588,337), Brazil (398,343) and India (204,832). 

Macau's COVID-19 tally stands at 49, with a death toll of zero. Foreign nationals without a residence permit in Macau continue to be barred from entry. Macau's free COVID-19 vaccination drive comprises local residents, non-resident workers and non-local students. Potential vaccinees have the choice between Sinopharma and BioNTech.
