The Macau Post and Telecommunication Bureau (CTT) warned residents in a statement on Friday about scam phone calls.
CTT said in the statement that it recently found that scammers have been masquerading as CTT staff to ask for personal information. The statement said the scammers tell residents that their phone service would be immediately suspended and asked for personal information. The bureau stressed that its staff never ask for residents’ information, urging residents to stay alert at all times. The statement also warned residents not to fall into strangers’ traps.
