Preto, a black animated character with white teeth in a big blue mouth, will be popping up in shops and restaurants around town ready to chew up the black merchandise as part of Orbis’ “Darkness To Go” sight-saving campaign.
Preto, which means “black” in Portuguese, is the creation of local designer Chu Kin Hei, who teamed up with his designer friends Nono Leong Chi Hang, Lok Hong and Hugo Ao to contribute to Orbis Macau’s campaign this year.
In Cantonese, Preto is known as ‘Wu Dau’ (‘black bean’).
