Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes has told reporters that she expects a daily average of 30,000 visitor arrivals during the summer holiday period.

Senna Fernandes made the remarks on the sidelines of Studio City Water Park’s opening ceremony on Saturday.

According to Senna Fernandes, since the May Day holiday period Macau’s number of average daily visitor arrivals has stood at between 20,000 and 30,000 per day, adding that the trend has been rising steadily. She also pointed out that the length of visitors’ stay has extended to three nights, pointing out that her office is planning to attract more tourists through various activities.

When asked about Studio City Water Park, Senna Fernandes underlined that newly opened entertainment facilities at Macau’s integrated resorts can attract a lot of visitors. She said that while Macau may not have enough land to open a theme park, her office has been trying to cooperate with neighbouring cities to attract more visitors.

Meanwhile, Senna Fernandes reaffirmed that the Grand Prix Museum in Zape will have its official opening next month, pointing out that since the start of its trial run last month the museum has drawn around 6,000 visitors.

Senna Fernandes also said that the museum had made minor adjustments during the trial run so that it could provide the best services when it officially opens next month.

When asked by the media about the new location for the city’s wine museum, Senna Fernandes said that her office had yet to find a right venue but her team was still exploring different possibilities.
