2 jewellery shop staff nabbed over missing HK$2 million

Two local men have been arrested over the disappearance of HK$2 million in cash from a jewellery shop in Cotai, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Ho Chan Nam said during a regular press conference yesterday.

Ho identified the suspects as a 25-year-old manager surnamed Wong and a 46-year-old staff member surnamed Yip.

According to Ho, the victim, who is from the mainland, opened the jewellery shop in Cotai in 2016. Late last year, he realised that operating cash of HK$2 million had gone missing. He reported the case to the police on Saturday.
