The Judiciary Police have been informed by local citizens that they had received SMSes on their smartphones with a purported link to the Finance Services Bureau’s (DSF) website (https://gov.dsf.tax), urging the recipients to fill in personal credit card information, according to a statement from the Judiciary Police yesterday.

The PJ statement noted that the Finance Services Bureau has already informed the police about the case and clarified that the bureau sends no such SMSes.

The Judiciary Police urges the public to be vigilant in case they receive similar messages on their smartphones, and refrain from logging into the website links or filling in any personal information. Anyone who believes they have fallen victim to online fraud should call the PJ’s 24-hour hotline 993 or fraud prevention hotline 8800 7777 for assistance.
