The School of the Nations said in a statement yesterday that 20 percent of those who enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) full diploma track received 40 points or above while the rest of the school’s entrants in the exam scored an average grade of 36.7 points out of 45.
The statement noted that the highest grade was 44 out of 45.
According to the IB organisation’s official website, more than 170,000 students around the world received their IB result on July 6, noting that the world average this year was 33.02 and 15,513 students achieved 40-45 points.
The statement said that the School of the Nations is the first school in Macau to set up the IB Programme and is one of the few schools that requires all pupils of the appropriate age to take the course. The statement said that the school appreciates the hard work of the teaching staff, pupils, and parents, especially during the novel coronavirus pandemic, in order to achieve such great results.
The Taipa-based private school promised that moving forward, it will continue to work hard to provide better educational services to pupils and parents and to give young people with outstanding qualifications a global perspective, motivate them to serve their communities and to care for the nation and Macau.
