An exhibition entitled “Printmaking Fun – Studying and Seeing the World” (版畫樂—遊學看世界) by Pui Ching Middle School schoolchildren showcases their artwork at the Youth Art Exhibition and Performance Hall in Praça do Tap Seac.

According to an article provided by the school on the website of the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ), the school has been adhering to the educational goals of “Ethical, intellectual, physical, humanity, art and spirituality, providing the balanced development of these six educations” (德智體群美靈,六育均衡發展), offering different types of co-curricular activities as well as outbound learning exchanges. The school’s Printmaking Club (版畫學社) organised tours for its students to visit Tokyo in 2018 and Taipei in 2019, to provide them with the opportunity to study printmaking.

According to the article, the exhibition displays water-based woodblock prints (known as ‘mokuhanga’ in Japan), silk screens, book binding and silk-screen printed tote bags created by the students who participated in the study tour groups. The students’ woodblock print and silk screen creations feature rather different characteristics. The exhibition also aims to show the students’ passion for art and their dedication and devotion to learning during the two study tours, the article points out.

The exhibition runs until Sunday at the Youth Art Exhibition and Performance Hall in Praça do Tap Seac. It is open from noon to 8 p.m. daily. Admission is free.

As part of the government’s COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures, all visitors entering the venue must wear a facemask, have their temperature checked and present a digital health code.
