It was street dance that brought a group of youngsters together some 10 years ago. Being the first to introduce street dance to Macau, they’ve been popularising street dance through various platforms, the biggest of which is an annual festival dedicated to street dance.
In its third year now, the two-month long Macau Street Dance Festival features dance workshops, a dance battle, exhibitions and performances for the public to enjoy, understand and experience the culture of street dance.
This year, the festival is themed “Peace, Unity, Love and Having Fun”, which are the characteristics of hip hop culture, also a message that the festival wants to send out, that through hip hop, people are united despite their different backgrounds, thereby bringing peace and love to the community where together they have fun dancing hip hop.
