Macau's gross gaming revenue rose 528.1 percent year on year to 8.4 billion patacas last month, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) announced today.
Month on month, revenue rose 29.2 percent.
July was the sector's second-best revenue month this year. In May, gross gaming revenue reached 10.4 billion patacas.
July recorded this year's third highest year-on-year increase. In April, revenue rose 1.014 percent year on year.
Macau's economy was particularly hard hit by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the first three quarters of last year.
Macau recorded its first COVID-19 case in January last year. Its novel coronavirus tally stands at 59. No COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in Macau.
In the first seven months of the year, the gaming sector's gross revenue grew 63.9 percent to 57.4 billion patacas.
