NOVA Mall’s Toys “R” Us hosted an opening ceremony yesterday for the shop’s FunPark arcade during which a toy donation ceremony in collaboration with Shun Tak Holdings Limited (SHTGF) and Hong Kong claw machine maker Ganawawa was held at NOVA Mall, the company said in a statement yesterday.
The statement noted that the store has a space of 4,000 square feet (371 square metres) and is made up of five elements: “IP” (image processing), “experience”, “entertainment”, “automation” and “scenery”. There are also over 50 automated game consoles, including claw machines, AR (augmented reality) games, gift machines, basketball machines, and a café alongside other facilities, which aim to provide people with an entertainment experience aside from shopping.
The “toy donation ceremony” was held in the store and SHTGF donated new toys worth more than 188,000 patacas to the children from grassroots families. The shop will launch the “toy loop train” initiative, which collects second-hand toys and donates them to those in need through Caritas Macau, encouraging children to cherish toys and cultivating environmental protection concepts, according to the statement.
As part of the government’s COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures, all visitors entering the store must wear a facemask, have their temperature checked and present a valid Macau Health Code.
Toys “R” Us is located in the Taipa NOVA Mall, shops B01 and B02, and is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
