The Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) said in a statement yesterday that in order to stay in line with the government’s COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures, it has set up 12 questionnaire collection points to facilitate survey submission, which will start to operate today.
According to the statement, the 15-day data collection for the 2021 Population Census has entered its seventh day, noting that until yesterday over 57,000 households had completed the online questionnaire, which accounts for 27.5 percent of the total. The statement underlined that there are multiple channels to complete the census – via telephone interview, paper survey or online questionnaire.
The statement said that the 12 collection points will be located at its two offices, four census work stations, three Government Integrated Services Centres and three government offices. The statement said that households may put their paper survey into any of the sealed boxes at any of the collection points, stressing that all information collected will be kept in strict confidence. The statement also pointed out that the census staff at the collection points can answer residents’ questions about the questionnaire.
The statement noted that the paper surveys will be delivered to the bureau by census staff using designated transport.
The statement underlined that the bureau only contacts households when it’s necessary, urging residents not to fall for scams that ask for credit cards, bank account details, and ID card details.
The statement also said that the letters were sent out to all building units in early August. Those who have still not received the letter may call the Census Hotline on 8809 8809 and DSEC staff will help them activate access to the online questionnaire, or households may conduct a telephone interview to complete the questionnaire.
According to the statement, in order to encourage early completion, the bureau is hosting an “Early Census Response for a Greater Chance of Winning Lucky Draw”. For more information about the census, residents can visit https://www.dsec.gov.mo/Censos2021 or call the census hotline on 8809 8809.
