An exhibition entitled “Creative City Pavilion (創意城巿館): Wuhan: City of Design – Empathy” (武漢:設計之都 ─ 共情), which is part of the ongoing Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2021 event, is being held at Mong-Ha Villas.
The exhibition is hosted by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) in conjunction with the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO).
According to a statement by the bureau, the exhibition “focuses on individuals at grand historical events from a micro perspective, and unfolds around the wonderful connection between individuals and collectives, people and society, and individuals, and finally settles on the most dazzling aura of human nature-empathy.”
Wuhan, as the epicentre of the COVID-19 pandemic early last year, has already taken on a new lease of life, the statement underlined.
“Looking back, all discussions on macro-level governance capabilities seem pale and untimely. “Participants are willing to present the vivid individual experiences in the city, the moving stories one after another connected by emotions, the visions outlined in art,” the statement pointed out.
The exhibition’s curator is Tang Jing (唐晶). The chief curator is local poet and translator Yao Feng (姚風).
The exhibition runs until October 24 at the galleries of Mong-Ha Villas (望廈山房) at 55-61 Avenida do Coronel Mesquita. It opens daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free. For more information, visit the website https://www.artmacao.mo/2021/eng.
As part of the government’s COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures, all visitors entering the villas must wear a facemask, have their temperature checked and present a digital health code.
