In the light of the fatal fire in a personal-storage facility in an industrial building in Hong Kong last month, Fire Services Bureau (CB) Commissioner Leong Iok Sam said yesterday his bureau hoped that such facilities in Macau will be regulated and licenced in the future.
Leong said he was unable to say when the regulation will be introduced. Currently, personal-storage facilities in Macau are completely unregulated and unlicenced.
Leong talked to reporters after an Executive Council press conference on an amendment to the by-law regulating the Fire Services Bureau Organisation and Operation, at Government House. The council is the government’s top advisory bodies.
