Portuguese artist Sofia Arez is holding an exhibition of some of her paintings to show the public how she explores transience.
The “Transient” exhibition is being held by the Institute of European Studies of Macau (IEEM) in conjunction with the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM) at the Centre for Creative Industries in Nape. The centre is located on the ground floor of the Macau Cultural Centre complex.
Sofia Arez was born in Portugal in 1972 and attained a master’s degree in painting from the University of Lisbon. She arrived in Macau in 2012 and since then has been an art teacher at the Macau Anglican College, according to the exhibition text, which says that “her art is driven by her interest in nature, perception and asceticism”.
