In celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), a flag-raising ceremony and reception will be held in the morning of the October 1 National Day, and the government pledged that it will reduce the number of attendees of the event and strictly abide by the Health Bureau (SSM) guidelines, the Government Information Bureau (GCS) said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, there will be more than 100 government officials attending the National Day events. Meanwhile, the statement said that residents can watch the livestream video of the flag-raising ceremony at 8 a.m. on public broadcaster TDM’s Macau Channel (Chinese), Canal Macau (Portuguese) and TDM-Information, while the National Day reception will be broadcast at 9:30 a.m. on “TDM Macau” and “TDM – Information”.
The statement said during the two events, the government will strictly comply with the Health Bureau’s COVID-19 prevention and control guidelines, adding that the attendees must display a nucleic acid test negative result taken within 48 hours. The statement also said that they must have their temperature checked, wear facemasks, display a valid Macau Health Code and ensure that there is sufficient tissue paper and hand sanitiser in the reception area.
