The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) announced in a statement yesterday that its outdoor facilities reopen today.

According to the statement, the decision to reopen its facilities was made due to Macau’s COVID-19 pandemic situation having stabilised, allowing the bureau to gradually reopen its facilities.

The statement noted that children’s playgrounds, sports and fitness facilities, pavilions, and outdoor facilities such as barbecue sites, sports grounds and leisure areas are reopened. The statement added that bicycle rental services, the Taipa flea market and the “Gathering at Dusk in Senado Square [Largo do Senado]” open-air activity are also reopening today.

The statement pointed out that the bureau will continue to ensure the cleanliness of venues and facilities, while also urging citizens to cooperate with the government’s COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures. The statement underlined that people must also have their temperature checked and present a valid Macau Health Code when entering the IAM venues and facilities

Meanwhile, the statement said that due to the 68th Macau Grand Prix preparations, the bureau will be closing the green area from Praça de Ferreira do Amaral to Rua de Cantão, and the park near the Macau Grand Prix Building. The statement added that during the Macau Grand Prix from November 18 to 21, the green area and park as well as the D. Maria II Hill Park and D. Maria II Viewpoint will be closed to the public.
