Facilities reopen as city gradually returns to normal

        As the city’s novel coronavirus pandemic situation has stabilised, a host of government entities announced yesterday that they are gradually reopening their facilities.

Sports Bureau reopens its facilities

The Sports Bureau (ID) announced in a statement yesterday that its facilities will reopen today.

The statement underlined that before reopening them, the sports facilities have been cleaned and disinfected regularly, also noting that the bureau has improved cleaning and disinfecting activities in accordance with the Health Bureau’s (SSM) guidelines.

The statement pointed out that youth training courses will resume tomorrow while “Sports for All” classes will resume next Monday. Meanwhile, Other group training programmes and sporting events will recommence gradually.

The statement noted that users are required to wear a facemask, have their temperature checked, and present a valid Macau Health Code upon entry. The maximum number of participants will still be limited to prevent crowds gathering. The statement urged the public to maintain personal hygiene, cleanliness and social distancing when using sports facilities.

MGTO reopens MGP Museum services, announces Nov workshops

Meanwhile, the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) announced yesterday that the Macau Grand Prix Museum has resumed operations.

The statement also noted the resumption of free guided tours and group visit applications.

The statement noted that the public guided tours, which last around 45 minutes per session, are conducted in Cantonese, Putonghua, Portuguese, and English. Visitors can find the timetable on the official website and sign up for a session at the museum. Registration will be based on a first-come-first-served basis due to the limited quota, the statement added.

The statement pointed out that the number of visitors to the museum is limited to around 1,100 per day (closed on Tuesdays). Tickets can be bought at the museum or purchased in advance via MGTO’s online ticketing system (eticket.macaotourism.gov.mo).

The statement said that parent-and-child workshops will be organised during the weekends in November, with themes based on cars while promoting next month’s Macau Grand Prix. Registration details will be announced in due course.

The statement emphasised that MGTO continues to conduct anti-pandemic measures and cleaning of the facilities. Visitors are required to wear facemasks, undergo temperature checks and present a valid Macau Health Code.

MUR’s temporary housing project exhibition reopens today

According to a statement by Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR), the Lot P temporary housing exhibition in Areia Preta will reopen today.

The statement noted that tours can be booked through MUR’s website or by scanning the QR code provided.

The statement noted that the Temporary Housing Exhibition Hall is on the 3rd floor of Mong Ha Social Housing – Mong Tak Building in Rua de Francisco Xavier Pereira. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., but closed on Mondays and public holidays.

IH reopens its show flats

The Housing Bureau (IH) said in a statement yesterday that its subsidised home-ownership scheme (HOS) show flats will reopen today at 11 a.m., adding that residents must book an appointment online. The statement underlined that the bureau will notify those who have successfully made an appointment via SMS.

The statement said that the show flats located in Avenida de Venceslau de Morais are open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., adding that they are closed on Mondays and public holidays.

IPIM’s Food Products Exhibition Centre resumes operation

The Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) will reopen its Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Exhibition Centre in the Glass House in Praça do tap Seac today, according to a statement by the institute yesterday.

The statement emphasised that the government’s COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures will be implemented at the institute’s public service facilities. The statement pointed out that attention will be paid to the COVID-19 pandemic situation in Macau, and the institute will adjust service arrangements accordingly.

IC announces reopening of cultural facilities

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) will reopen its cultural facilities today, according to a statement by the bureau yesterday.

A number of cultural activities will be launched consecutively such as performances, workshops, courses and reading activities, the statement noted.

The statement underlined that various activities will be organised in November including the “hush! Concerts” and the “Tap Siac Craft Market”. The 3rd “Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” are scheduled for November and December. Meanwhile, the 24th Lusofonia Festival, which will also be included in this year’s “Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, is slated to take place in December. More information will be announced in due course.

The statement underlined the resumption of cultural activities, such as the Busking Programme, on Friday. The statement also noted the reopening of registration for “Cultural Guided Tours”, “Get to Know Our World Heritage – Workshops for Families” and reading activities for families. Activities integrated in the “Show and Deep Cultural Tour in Inner Harbour and Taipa” and concerts by the Macau Orchestra and Macau Chinese Orchestra will resume gradually, the statement said.

The statement underlined that registration can be done through IC’s Activities Registration System at www.icm.gov.mo/eform/event, also adding the reopening of the “Artistic and Cultural Spaces Release Programme”. Application procedures and details can be found on the “Booking System for the use of Artistic and Cultural Spaces” at the IC’s website on acs.icm.gov.mo.
