The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) announced in a statement yesterday that the China National Peking Opera Company will return to the city to give two performances, “popular operatic pieces of epic dimensions”, at the Macau Cultural Centre’s (CCM) Grand Auditorium on December 17 and 18 to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of Macau’s return to the motherland.
According to the statement, the two performances will be held under the auspices of the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Beijing and the local Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture.

The performances aim to display the diversity and development of traditional Chinese opera and allow performing arts aficionados to explore a wide range of theatrical forms, the statement underlined.
The statement said that the “The Unofficial Biography of Taizhen” is slated to be staged on December 17 while “Mu Guiying Taking Command” will be performed on December 18.
Tickets will be available for sale from October 31 at CCM’s box office and Macau Ticketing Network outlets, which are priced at 100 patacas, 150 patacas, and 200 patacas and are available at various discounts.
