A statement by Macau’s Health Bureau (SSM) quoted yesterday a notice by its Hong Kong counterpart that people should not buy or consume Hemohim (艾多美煥力飲) due to impurities in its ingredients.
The bureau said that according its official records Macau has never imported or approved the product for the local market. The statement said that Hemohim was found to contain methoxsalen (甲氧沙林) which can be used for curing psoriasis (銀屑病) and vitiligo (白蝕疾病). The side effects include nausea, headache, dizziness, fatigue, depressive disorder, and skin reaction to sunlight, the statement warned.
The bureau pledged that it will pay close attention to the product’s distribution in Macau, urging people not to purchase the remedy. The statement said that anyone who has purchased the product should not consume it but submit it to the SSM office in China Plaza. For enquiries, people should contact 8598 3453 during office hours.
