A local man was arrested on Saturday for taking upskirts of his female colleague at the staff canteen in a local casino-resort hotel in Cotai, Public Security Police (PSP) spokeswoman Erica Cheong Im Sim said at a press briefing yesterday.
The 25-year-old suspect surnamed Lam works as a clerk at the hotel. The victim in her thirties is one of Lam’s colleagues.
According to Cheong, a local female hotel employee of a hotel in Cotai reported to the police on Saturday afternoon that a male colleague who sat opposite of her took upskirts of her during the meal at the staff canteen earlier that day. The Public Security Police went to the hotel and arrested Lam. PSP officers seized two smartphones from him where they found about 15 photos of the victim.
Cheong said the officers later went to Lam’s home in Fai Chi Kei district where they retrieved from his computer tablet over 280 videos and more than 130 photos of women’s legs. Lam told the police that he had had been taking upskirts of women’s legs since 2019 but claimed that he had forgotten when and where he took the upskirts.
Lam has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing an illegal recording charge, according to Cheong.
