Members of the Macau Green Students Union and local think tank Choi In Tong Sam accused the government yesterday of lacking any long-term energy saving policies.

Eco-activist Joe Chan Chon Meng, who heads the Macau Green Students Union, told reporters on the sidelines of a forum about clean energy and local policies on how to save energy that although the government regularly organises various activities and events to encourage residents to save energy, he saw no long-term energy-saving policies. Chan was a guest speaker at the forum.

Several members of the public attended yesterday’s outdoor forum in Vasco da Gama Garden organised by local group Civic Power headed by Agnes Lam Iok Fong, a media studies assistant professor at University of Macau.
