The Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture said in a statement yesterday that Macau has been supporting Congjiang county in Guizhou province in the fight against poverty for the third year in a row.
The statement said that an opening ceremony for an exhibition that displays and explains Macau’s involvement in helping Congjiang to fight poverty was held at University of Macau yesterday, while the exhibition itself will be taken place online.
Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Elsie Ao Ieong U said during the opening ceremony that in the three years of supporting Congjiang, various government entities, community groups and local enterprises showed their support. She said that the city’s government has plans to focus on subsidising poor students and to provide precise poverty alleviation to help Congjiang fight poverty.
Ao Ieong said that the exhibition demonstrates Macau’s love for the motherland, and the beauty of helping others who are in need.
The exhibition will be held virtually for six months on https://fmac.org.mo/fp/.
