Local resort operator Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) announced in a statement earlier this week that it had given tickets to the 68th Macau Grand Prix (MGP) to the medical staff of Tung Sin Tong’s (TST) clinics, and arranged for them to visit the MGP Museum prior to the races.
The statement noted that the invitations were made to express GEG’s appreciation for the work of medical staff in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic.
The statement noted that the TST’s medical staff and their families watched a series of races during the Grand Prix, which also included the title-sponsored “Galaxy Entertainment Macau Guia Race”.
The statement pointed out that prior to the races, the staff and their families, along with GEG volunteers, visited the MGP Museum. The statement noted that the trip enabled the participants to learn about Macau’s motor-racing history through the museum’s displays, as well as through interactive games and guided tours. Moreover, the participants also took part in the “Little Racers DIY Workshop” organised by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the statement added.
The statement underlined that GEG supports the government in developing local sports, and has assisted in promoting “cross-sector integration of tourism + sports” by sponsoring different sports events like the Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon. The statement emphasised that GEG “will continue to foster local sports development, enrich Macau’s sports tourism offerings, and advocate the importance of sports for all”.
